Whitney Pollio received her BSN from the University of Alabama Huntsville College Of Nursing in 1992. In 2015, she received her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama Capstone College of Nursing in the Clinical Nurse Leader track. She received an EdD in Instructional Leadership with a Nurse Education Specialization from the University of Alabama spring 2018.
Dr. Pollio has experience in the hospital, clinic, home health and employee health settings. She also has spent over a year as a Research Nurse Coordinator with the UAB School of Medicine’s CCTS department. There she has had extensive training in running clinical trials as well as being involved in their educational services. In January 2016, she became an adjunct clinical instructor with the AMNP Program at UAB School of Nursing. In August 2017, she became an Instructor at UAB School of Nursing. Her research focus includes patient education, health literacy, homelessness, hepatitis C, and disaster.
