Dr. Thachuthara-George received his initial medical training at India’s St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore, India. Following this initial training, he worked as a research volunteer and clinical observer in the University of Texas Medical School at Houston’s Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine. This work was soon followed with a residency training program in University of Texas Medical School at Houston’s Department of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Thachuthara-George quickly moved on to Pulmonary Critical Care Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine where he also received training in transplant pulmonology. Dr. Thachuthara-George then went on to complete an extra year of training in Interventional Pulmonology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Following this fellowship, he joined the UAB faculty in 2016 as Assistant Professor of Medicine.
His clinical and research interests relate to lung cancer, malignant pleural disease and complex airway disease.
