Overview

  • Tara Wood, DNP, CRNP, NNP-BC is the Coordinator for the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Specialty Track at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing.

    Dr. Wood is a two-time alumna of the UAB School of Nursing, earning both her MSN and DNP degrees from UAB. Dr. Wood has provided care to infants and families in the Neonatal ICU for over 15 years. She maintains her neonatal nurse practitioner board certification through the National Certification Corporation.

    Dr. Wood is a member of the Academy of Neonatal Nursing's Education Committee. She is also a member of The Alabama Department of Health Opioid Misuse in Women/NAS Task Force, where her focus is to provide education and community awareness on fetal drug exposure and the effects of neonatal abstinence syndrome.


    She is committed to facilitating an excellent interactive and innovative learning experience for all students.
