Sue Feldman is a Professor and Director of Graduate Programs in Health Informatics in Health Services Administration in the School of Health Professions at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She teaches in the Clinical Informatics program, the Master of Science in Health Informatics program, and in the PhD program. She has a dual appointment in the School of Medicine, where she is a Senior Scientist in the Informatics Institute, and is a Fellow at the Center for the Study of Community Health at UAB.
Dr. Feldman is a Chair of the Health Informatics Accreditation Council for CAHIIM (Commission for Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management); she chairs accreditation site visits.
As a Registered Nurse (RN) for over 30 years, she brings a unique clinical and informatics blend to everything she does, grounding policy and theory with practice. Dr. Feldman has published in a variety of top-tier peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, and served as program chair for several national forums, and more recently authored a textbook chapter on the intersection of health informatics and quality in safety as well as served as editor for a special issue journal on the topic.
