Associate Professor at the UAB School of Nursing and teaches across all academic levels (undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral). She is a family nurse practitioner and currently serves on the Executive Board Member (Treasurer) of the Nurse Practitioner Alliance of Alabama. Dr. Morrison's translational research is aimed to explore how diet, specifically added sugar, and obesity influence cardiometabolic disease onset/prevalence, inflammation, and cognitive impairment in aging adults.
Dr. Morrison's translational research focuses on the associations between diet, specifically total and added sugar, weight, body composition, and inflammation influence cardiometabolic disease risk and prevalence as well as the influence of sugar on cognition in aging populations.
Nursing educator for 13 years across all academic levels (BSN, MSN, DNP, and PhD). Taught a plethora of courses in live settings as well as via a distance accessible format.
