Overview

  • Dr. Qin Wang received her M.D. degree from Beijing Medical University, China. After traveling to the US, she obtained her Ph.D. degree in December 1999 from University of Iowa. She then did her postdoc work at Vanderbilt University, where she was appointed as a Research Assistant Professor two years later. In June 2005, Dr. Wang joined UAB as an Assistant Professor.

    Research Overview

  • The lab has a general interest in neurosynaptic signaling in neurological and psychiatric disorders. Our goal is to translate our lab research to development of new therapeutic interventions for disease treatment. Current projects include: 1)Noradrenergic signaling in Alzheimer’s disease; 2)Protein trafficking in Alzheimer’s disease; 3)Synaptic signaling in social behavior and autism spectrum disorders; 4) Novel genetic risk factors for ADHD.
