Ultrasonography of the renal transplant

Academic Article

  • Renal transplantation is a life-changing operation for patients with end-stage renal disease. Knowledge of complications that occur in the early postoperative stage as well as years after the transplant is important for short-term and long-term survival of the renal allograft. Ultrasonography is often the first-line imaging modality in evaluating transplant complications, and knowledge of the sonographic criteria can aid in successful diagnosis.
