Clinical monitoring and appropriate imaging have played an important role to ensure a successful outcome for renal transplant patients. A variety of imaging options now exist, and they are routinely used in these patients. Ultrasound is the most frequent first-line imaging method in the post-operative period and for long-term follow-up. For specific indications, magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, and nuclear medicine examinations are often helpful.
