Hemangiomatosis of the colon and anorectum: Case report and a review of the literature

  • Congenital vascular malformations of the colon and anorectum constitute an unusual cause of massive lower gastrointestinal hemorrhage. The management of this condition presents peculiar pathophysiologic, diagnostic and technical problems. An illustrative case of a 24 yr old female is presented and the pathology, pathophysiology, diagnosis and management reviewed.
