Suspected heterosexual transmission of bacterial vaginosis without seminal fluid exposure

Academic Article

Abstract

  • This report describes a case of suspected heterosexual transmission of bacterial vaginosis to a woman from a male partner who had undergone a radical prostatectomy. The most likely method of transmission in this case was through contact with infected desquamated epithelial cells from the male partner's distal urethra or coronal sulcus. © 2013 American Sexually Transmitted Diseases Association.
