Abstract

  • We introduce a new theoretical approach to describe the virtual excitation of Fermi edge singularities in modulation-doped quantum wells. We discuss how ultrashort laser pulses renormalize the effective masses, band-gap transition matrix elements, and interactions of doped semiconductors. © 1994 The American Physical Society.
