To the Editor: I found the letter entitled “Higgledy, Piggledy” (Feb. 14 issue)! quite informative in its suggestions for a standardized medical vocabulary. However, I believe the title is in error. Higgledy, piggledy actually refers to the reproductive activities of a black hen. The information contained in the letter might better have been entitled “Unequal Distribution of Porcine Resources.” The error in the title further underscores the need for a standardized technical vocabulary that Mr. Phillips so humorously illustrates. Can a book written by editors still be a good read? Can a book about ethics without a single ethicist among. © 1991, Massachusetts Medical Society. All rights reserved.
