Incidence type and location of corneal staining as a result of hydrogel extended wear

Academic Article

Abstract

  • A study was conducted to characterize corneal staining after extended contact lens wear. In randomized, cross-over clinical trial lasting 60 days, 50 patients were randomized to either daily disposable or disposable extended wear. The incidence of corneal staining after the extended wear of this hydrogel contact lens is high. However, very little corneal staining is noted to be severe.
