This article presents the findings from the physical examination of the randomized participants with confirmed hypertension enrolled into the Hypertension Detection and Follow-Up Program (HDFP). Of the 10,940 hypertensives randomized, complete physical examination data were available on only 10,604 and will be presented in this article. Items covered include the number and percentage of the participants by age decade, sex, race, use of antihypertensive medication, and diastolic blood pressure stratum on entry into the study.
