Lymphokines and monokines in the neuroendocrine system

Academic Article

  • In this chapter, I will initially describe the normal CNS function of the various glial cells, and then discuss the ability of these cells to both respond to, and synthesize, a variety of lymphokines and cytokines within the CNS. These interactions may be important in the initiation and progress of intracerebral immune responses which may be involved in neurological diseases that have an immunological component.
