Resonant neutralization of ions scattered from surfaces with an intermediate velocity

Abstract

  • A theoretical investigation of the resonant neutralization of ions scattered from solid surfaces with an intermediate velocity has been made. A neutralization probability is calculated as a non-adiabatic phenomenon taking account of an electronic band structure by means of the classical trajectory approximation and the local time approximation. A simple formula of the neutralization probability is also proposed. © 1986.
