After extensive experimental observations, we have treated with hormonal therapy all brain-dead potential donors referred for heart transplantation. Our observations in a group of these patients are outlined below. Hemodynamic and metabolic observations in 21 brain-dead potential donors who received hormonal therapy have been compared with observations in 26 who did not.
