A program in BASIC for estimating the number of genes contributing to quantitative character variation

Academic Article

  • A program in BASIC is presented that calculates estimates of the minimum number of freely segregating genetic factors, nE, contributing to the difference in a quantitative character between two populations. Standard errors of the estimates also are calculated. The program will run on an Apple II (tm) computer and can be easily modified to run on other microcomputers with similar versions of BASIC.
