ENERGY DEPENDENCE OF FISSION FRAGMENT ANISOTROPY IN FAST-NEUTRON-INDUCED FISSION OF URANIUM-235.

Abstract

  • Fission fragments anisotropy in fast-neutron-induced fission of **2**3**5U was measured at neutron energies ranging from 0. 3 to 1. 4 MeV at intervals of 0. 1, 1. 6, 1. 8, and 2. 2 MeV. In the present study, the pairing energy gap (2 DELTA //0) for the highly deformed transition state of the nucleus **2**3**6U was found to be 2. 0 plus or minus 0. 6 MeV.
