Hyperthermia considerations for a conducting cylinder heated by an oscillating electric field applied parallel to the cylinder axis

Academic Article

  • An exact solution is given for the electric field intensity throughout a long conducting cylinder when the oscillating field is applied parallel to the cylinder axis. Implications of importance for clinical hyperthermia are that frequencies up to 20 MHz can be used without significant losses due to depth penetration. © 1982, American Association of Physicists in Medicine.
