Use of mini-octadecylsilane ultrasphere column in high-pressure liquid chromatography for protein structural studies

Academic Article

Abstract

  • Using a single mini-octadecylsilane (ODS) 5-μm ultrasphere column (0.46 × 4.5 cm) and linear gradients of different solvents, all the aspects of protein structural analysis have been defined. The effectiveness of the system has been evaluated by separating the α and β chains of hemoglobin and their tryptic peptides, then performing amino acid analysis and, finally, identifying the phenylthiohydantoin derivatives of amino acids. © 1984.
