Salmonella bredeney mastitis during pregnancy

Academic Article

Abstract

  • A young woman developed mastitis due to Salmonella bredeney during the 25th week of her first pregnancy and recovered with ampicillin therapy. Unusual microorganisms occasionally cause breast disease. Material for Gram stain, cultures, and susceptibility studies should be obtained before treatment in all cases. © 1982 The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
