Paul M. Di Gangi is a Professor of Information Systems and steward of the Dora and Sanjay Singh Endowed Fund for Information Systems Research in the Collat School of Business at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He received his doctoral degree from Florida State University. He is also a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) based on his work relating to policy, strategic planning, and risk analysis. Paul is a recipient of the UAB President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching and the MS MIS Faculty Award for Teaching Excellence.
His research examines the intersection of digital networks and organizations with a focus in three areas: 1) the influence of social networks on information security practices, 2) role of online communities in business, and 3) user-driven innovation processes/ crowdsourcing. His research has been published or is forthcoming in the Journal of the Association for Information Systems, Communications of the Association for Information Systems, Decision Support Systems, Information & Organization, International Journal of Information Management, Internet Research, and MIS Quarterly Executive, among others. Paul currently serves as an Associate Editor for the European Journal of Information Systems.
