• Dr. Jennifer D. Hamrick is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she primarily teaches External Audit and Advanced Accounting. Prior to pursuing her doctorate, she worked as a Corporate Accountant and Business Analyst at Southern Nuclear, and as a Senior Accountant at a local Birmingham public accounting firm. She obtained her MAcc. from Auburn University and Ph.D. from Kennesaw State University, and holds several professional certifications (CPA, CGMA). Her current research interests include audit negotiation decisions, text mining, and fraud.

  • Her academic qualifications include a B.S. in Accounting and B.A. in English from Birmingham-Southern College; a MAcc from Auburn University; and a Ph.D. in Business Administration, concentration in Accounting, from Kennesaw State University. Dr. Hamrick is a recipient of the DSS Fall 2019 Oustanding Faculty Award and the Spring 2021 NASBA Center for the Public Trust Campus Being a Difference Award.
