Scholarship
My current research is directed towards developing nutritional and behavioral strategies that can reduce the prevalence of metabolic and cardiovascular complications that are associated with type 2 diabetes. I am specifically interested in the mechanistic role through which mitochondrial bioenergetics and redox signaling influence the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes and associated comorbidities.
