    Dr. Dina Avery is an Assistant Professor and Regulatory Affairs Specialist for the UAB Biotechnology Regulatory Affairs Program. Dr. Avery also has an appointment as an Associate Scientist within the UAB Minority Health and Health Disparities Research Center. She serves as the Faculty Advisor for the UAB Graduate Career Awareness and Trends (GCAT).

    Dr Unlap received his PhD in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology from Kansas State University followed by postdoctoral trainings in Oncology and Behavioral Neurobiology under Drs Andrew Kraft and Richard Jope at the University of Alabama at Birmingham studying the roles that immediate early genes play in the pathogenesis of malignancy and neuronal degeneration, respectively.
