Dr. Bae leads the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Shared Facility at UAB. He leads the biostatistics and bioinformatics core of the Cervical Cancer Specialized Programs of Research Excellence with Johns Hopkins University and the Morehouse School of Medicine/Tuskegee University/UAB CCC Partnership (U54CA118948) and serves as a senior biostatistician on numerous projects including Rxr Rexinoids for Cancer Chemoprevention (P01CA210946) and UAB Research Center of Excellence in Arsenicals (U54ES030246). Dr. Bae leads the Data Coordinating Center (DCC) for a Phase IIb Clinical Trial of GKT831 in Patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and led DCC for a Randomized Trial of Physical Activity Self-Management Intervention for Patients with COPD. He also serves as deputy director of the Coronary Artery Risk Development in Young Adults (CARDIA) Coordinating Center (N01-HC-95095). He has been collaborating on numerous projects that focus on chronic disease health disparities and cancer. Dr. Bae has worked on many translational research projects including laboratory, animal, human studies and clinical trials and published over 180 peer-reviewed manuscripts in high impact journals such as JAMA, Cancer Letters, Cancer Research, Cancer, JCI Insight, Scientific Reports, Clinical Cancer Research and the Journal of Clinical Oncology. He is a member of various executive and steering committees and is chair of the CARDIA Data Analysis committee. In addition, he regularly reviews for NIH, DOD, VA, and other funding agencies.
