Dr. Pearce graduated from Duke University with a degree in biology and attended medical school at the University of Texas. He was named to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and was recognized during his clinical medicine rotation as the most outstanding student in his class. He then completed his general surgery residency at the University of Chicago Hospitals where he was awarded the Gold Foundation in Humanism award twice and was a Robert Baker Golden Apple Teaching Award winner. Dr. Pearce was honored to be the administrative chief resident for his class.
He then completed the vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, after which he was an assistant professor of surgery at the University of Texas for three years. He returned UAB as a faculty member in 2013. Dr. Pearce serves as Program Director for the Vascular Integrated Residency and Fellowship programs.
