Ashley Parish is an ABPTS Board Certified Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Clinical Specialist in Physical Therapy with over a decade of experience in the intensive care unit setting. She obtained both her Bachelors of Science in Respiratory Therapy and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from UAB. She is currently enrolled in the PhD Health Behavior program in the School of Public Health at UAB, as well as the Certificate program in Applications of Mixed Methods Research. Her passion is intensive care unit-based services for the cardiovascular and pulmonary pediatric population. She continues to practice clinically in a hospital setting, as well as weekly at STEP clinic. Parish has experience teaching cardiovascular and pulmonary concepts at the undergraduate, pre-professional, and doctoral level. Parish is additionally a certified simulation instructor through Harvard/MIT. She has served in multiple leadership roles for the APTA Academy of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary, Acute Care, Pediatrics, APTA Alabama, and the Society for Simulation in Healthcare. She is the recipient of the 2021 and 2022 Emerging Leader Award from the APTA, 2022 Academy of Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Physical Therapy Emerging Leader Award, as well as the 2022 ACAPT Emerging Educator Award.
