Adapted Spoon for Developmentally Disabled Children

Abstract

  • An L‐shaped adapted spoon was designed for a group of developmentally disabled children to prevent them placing their fingers in their food during self‐feeding and to assist them in bringing the spoon to the mouth. The simplicity of the spoon design requires minimal alteration of a conventional spoon, requires minimal training, and is relatively inexpensive to adapt. 1990 Occupational Therapy Australia Limited
