Mail surveys: A linear programming solution

Abstract

  • A linear programming model is developed to allocate a budget for response inducements. Assuming a given initial sample size and a desired final sample size, the program is formulated to minimize the necessary expenditures. The process is tested and demonstrated using field data, and the implications and limitations of the results are discussed. © 1994.
