Improving service quality in the health care setting

Academic Article

Abstract

  • As quality becomes the most critical consumer issue in health care, how providers respond to it may well determine their long-term success. Success will depend largely on how well consumers are satisfied with the quality of the health care services they receive. Further research into services quality can provide health care organizations with the knowledge necessary to cope effectively with marketing efforts, consumer demands, and governmental regulations that will include greater concerns for quality. We hope that our examination of quality in the health care environment can provide a basis for improvement in this area.
