Varicella is a common infectious disease, for which 2-dose vaccination was recommended in 2006. Varicella case and vaccination data in New Hampshire were analyzed to assess impact of this recommendation on disease incidence and clinical characteristics. Varicella incidence decreased after the 2-dose recommendation, with greatest reductions in ages 5-19 years. Continued vaccination efforts should further reduce disease. © 2013 by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins.
