Abstract

  • There is currently a great interest in developing special purpose, large-scale, multimicrocomputer systems which allow the parallel processing of tasks. Simulating large numbers of processors on a conventional uniprocessor machine can be quite time consuming. This has created a desire for multimicroprocessor test beds to provide emulation capabilities for evaluating new system designs. A highly flexible interconnection network for such a system is presented. Its use emulating single stage, multistage, and tree structured networks for MIMD mode operations is demonstrated.
