Abstract

  • The examination of the sources of conflict and a review of the literature on conflict resolution provide a basis to identify and resolve manufacturing and marketing conflict within the organization. Despite the attention that has been paid to this area, a clear identification of the sources of conflict has not been made. The paper examines the interface of manufacturing and marketing in profit-oriented manufacturing firms and identified the aspects and degree of conflict between these functional areas. Because of the emphasis on firm efficiency and manufacturing capability in the near future, this problem warrants immediate concern and action.
