Tunable distributed feedback color center laser using stabilized F2+** color centers in LiF crystal

Abstract

  • A room temperature tunable color center distributed feedback (DFB) laser using stabilized F+**2centres in LiF (LiF:F+**2) as a gain medium was discussed. The tunable oscillation of LiF:F+**2DFB lasing was found to be achieved in the near infrared region. It was observed that the LiF crystal was grown by the Kyropulos method and doped with LiOH, LiO2and MgF2to provide thermal and photostabilization of the charged center crystals. The results show that the incident angle of the pumping beams was closed to the Brewster angle which provide minimum losses of pump energy.
