  • Acetylcholinesterase inhibitor drugs are now a mature treatment approach for Alzheimer's disease, although they remain controversial. This review addresses the available data on acetylcholinesterase inhibitor treatment in patients with Alzheimer's disease across multiple outcome types. It addresses rational and evidence-based expectations for treatment in this population. © 2007 Future Medicine Ltd.
