The physical and chemical properties of a liver-specific antigen (LSA) from rat liver are described. The LSA has a size slightly larger than 72.000 dalton is relatively thermolabile and sensitive to the extremes of pH. The highly destructive effects of trypsin along with the absence of any carbohydrate or lipid moieties from its molecule, suggest that the LSA is of proteinic nature.
