  • Understanding the fundamental histopathology of chorionic villitis, intervillositis, and chorionic vascular thrombi, known as fetal thrombotic vasculopathy, can enable neonatologists to interpret placental pathology reports. In addition, such understanding helps them to provide parents with explanations about their infants' conditions, short- and long-term prognoses, and risk factors subsequent pathologies.
