Whereas emergency cardiopulmonary bypass has become widely used in the adult population for refractory cardiac arrest,1 there are no reported cases of its use in a pediatric patient. We report a case of an adolescent with corrected complex congenital heart disease who survived medically refractory ventricular arrhythmias by being placed on cardiopulmonary bypass. © 1992.
