H+ transport: Regulation and mechanism in gastric mucosa and membrane vesicles

Academic Article

  • This review of gastric secretion attempts to do two things: relate the research done on gastric mucosa to principles derived from other epithelia and relate some of the findings on H+ transport in the stomach to H+ transport in other systems. This review is divided into three general areas: regulation of secretion; regulation of metabolism; and ion transport properties of the gastric mucosa, with emphasis on H+ transport.
