Computing the intersection of a plane and a revolute quadric

Abstract

  • A method of computing the intersection of a plane and a revolute quadric surface is presented. This problem is basic in geometric areas such as solid modeling and descriptive geometry. Our method delivers a closed form representation of the intersection conic as well as all parallel sections without added computation. © 1994.
