Early graft loss in cyclosporine A-treated cadaveric renal allograft recipients receiving retransplants against previous mismatched HLA-A, -B, -DR donor antigens

Academic Article

  • In conclusion, recipient selection for retransplantation based on a negative crossmatch with current sera appears to yield acceptable renal allograft survival rates as long as previously mismatched HLA antigens are avoided. This supports the policy of transplanting patients with PPCN crossmatch results with the singular restriction that HLA antigens present in previous allografts be avoided.
