  • Arthritis as a frequent, but not defining, component of a varied array of systemic disorders evokes an image of joints as a catchall for cells, microbes, immune complexes, and products of metabolism. This review of some of these systemic disorders does not include vasculitis or the multitude of primary rheumatic diseases.
