    Research Overview

  • Dr. Crowe’s research expertise is in the area of cognitive decline and dementia in older adults. He has authored a number of publications on how potentially modifiable factors such as environmental complexity, stress, and health may play a role in cognitive aging. His other areas of research include mental health in older adults, and the consequences of cognitive and mental health in terms of everyday activities and health behaviors. In recent work, Dr. Crowe has been conducting research on the association between factors related to health disparities (e.g., diabetes, educational factors, health literacy) and cognitive function in older adulthood.
