Overview

  • Dr. Riesenberg is a full-time medical educator who works exclusively for the Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine residency program. As the Associate Director Education, Dr. Riesenberg’s role involves medical education curricular innovations, evaluation methods, faculty development, improving patient safety and quality through Graduate Medical Education, learning styles assessment and individualized learning plans coaching, scientific writing and publication, and medical education outcomes research.

    In addition, she is responsible for our Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) program, which provides residents the opportunity to become leaders in health care through enhanced educational tracks. The UAB Department of Anesthesiology is committed to providing excellent clinical training, as well as providing opportunities for residents to develop unique skills that will allow them to become leaders in health care. Our innovative leadership tracks are designed to nurture leadership, communication, and administrative expertise and include certificate and Master’s degree options for selected residents.
