Overview

  • Jerry Aldridge, Ed.D., is professor emeritus in the School of Education. From 1998-2000, he was president of the United States National Committee for the World Organization for Early Childhood Education (OMEP) and served as a representative for the organization to the United Nations from 2012-2014. He served on the publications committee of the Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI) from 1996-2011. He received the 1995 Dean's Award for Outstanding Service to the UAB School of Education and the 1997 UAB President's Award for Excellence in Teaching. In 2000, he received the UAB Ingalls Award for Excellence in Classroom Teaching. He was the keynote speaker for the doctoral hooding ceremony at UAB in December of 2008. Dr. Aldridge currently serves as a faculty member in UAB's Transcisciplinary Teaming program funded through the U. S. Department of Education. He has published 17 books and over 200 articles.
