Overview

  • Dr. Jack H. Hasson was born in Las Vegas, Nevada and moved with his family at an early age to Montgomery, Alabama. He graduated in 1966 from the University of Alabama with a degree in Chemistry, and went on to complete his medical degree in 1970 from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham. Dr. Hasson completed his Internship, Residency, and Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In between his internship and residency, he completed a two-year tour of duty as a physician with the United States Air Force at Robins AFB. Following his fellowship training in 1977, Dr. Hasson entered private practice specializing in pulmonary medicine with the Baptist Hospital Systems at both Baptist Montclair and Baptist Princeton in Birmingham, AL. He very quickly assumed leadership positions not only within the hospitals where he served as an attending physician, but also within the community.

    At various points over the past 15 years, he has been President of the Medical Staff at Baptist Medical Center-Princeton (1999-2000), President of the Birmingham Society of Internists (2006), President of the Jefferson Country Medical Society (2002), President of the Birmingham Academy of Medicine (1988-1989), and a member of Leadership Birmingham Class of 2004-just to mention a few. He is an ardent runner and is the holder of many age group records in running events. Dr. Hasson is also a Signature Member of the Alabama Watercolor Society. In 2008, Dr. Hasson accepted a part-time appointment to the UAB Division of Pulmonary, Allergy & Critical Care Medicine at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine.
