Overview

  • Dr. Gunn became board certified by the American Board of Dermatology in July 2012. During her dermatology residency at Penn State Hershey Medical Center she became skilled at diagnosing and treating skin disorders of all ages and ethnicities. During that time she also received a Master’s in Public Health Evaluation Sciences for her research in skin cancer prevention. She is passionate about all aspects of dermatology and has published articles in dermatology as well as psychology journals for her research and experience in dermatologic diseases. Dr. Gunn has a special interest in cosmetic dermatology and skincare. Starting in 2009, she organized cosmetic training clinics allowing her to practice, teach and develop her expertise in treating acne scarring, wrinkles, sun spots, and other signs of aging. She also has traveled all over the country to train with numerous cosmetic dermatologist. Since then she had been in private practice in Lancaster Pennsylvania as her husband was completing his General and Plastic Surgery training. She was recruited to become the Medical Director of the St. Elizabeth’s Dermatology Aesthetic and Laser Center in the greater Cincinnati area where she was voted as Top Doctor in Dermatology by her peers in the Cincinnati Magazine after only one year in the area. She is now very happy to back in her home state of Alabama as the Medical Director of UAB Medicine’s Cosmetic Dermatology and Laser Clinic. Being a wife and mother is also a very important part of her life along with being a great physician. Her family time is spent enjoying hiking, biking, canoeing, snowboarding, reading and watching college football with her husband and four children.
