Overview

  • Dr. Hawkins is an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Medicine. Dr. Hawkins attended medical school at the University of South Alabama before completing his medical internship and residency at Carraway Methodist Medical Center, where he was chief medical resident. Following his residency, Dr. Hawkins completed the UAB's Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Fellowship Program. Dr. Hawkins served in many leadership roles at Carraway Methodist Medical Center following his fellowship training. These roles included Sleep Center Director, Pulmonary & Respiratory Care Co-Director, and Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine Unit Director. Dr. Hawkins has served in the UAB Sleep-Wake Disorders Center since 2003.
